Maurizio Martuscello begun percussion studies at liceo musicale di napoli in 1980. Then he moved to rome where he begun to improve the study of percussion in experimental and impovisation contexts. In rome he co-operated with musicians such as Giancarlo Sciaffini, Bruno Tommaso , Gianluigi Trovesi, Jean Marc Montera Group and l Percussion Ensemble of Tony Oxley. In 1995 he established the duo Martusciello and the group Ossatura, which has been playing with musicians such as Tim Hodgkinson, Chris Cutler, Otomo Yoshihide. In 1997, together with Økapi he founded the Metaxu, which begun to collaborate with the experimental film collective Cane Capovolto, a project about the expressive potentiality of sound fiction.
Økapi as a child he studied piano, drums, violin and solfeggio at conservatoire with no good results and decided to give up his plans to become a professional musician, but then he had experiences in the impovisation music field. He begun to study graphic art, so he learnt to steal things and materials by others and to use them in a personal and creative way. Thanks to this attitude he approached the world of sounds again and , with a typical diy stance, begun to make his own tape collages with some tape recorders and no mixer. In 1997 he met the electroacoustic composer Martux and founded Metaxu.
Massimo Pupillo Bass player with Zu and in a trio with Gianni Gebbia and Lukas Ligeti With Zu he has played hundreds of shows all over Usa, Europe and eastern countries playing with The Ex, Ken Vandermark, Ruins, Otomo Yoshihide, Amy Denio and in special way with dr. Eugene Chabourne, with whom they recorded 2 Cds
Maurizio Martuscello è uno dei compositori italiani piu' importanti di musica elettronica ed elettroacustica. Collabora nella scena dell' improvvisazione radicale con musicisti come Giancarlo Sciaffini, Bruno Tommaso, Gianluigi Trovesi, Jean Marc Montera Group e il Percussion Ensemble di Tony Oxley. Nel 1995 forma il duo Martusciello e il gruppo Ossatura, con cui ha suonato tra gli altri con Tim Hodgkinson, Chris Cutler, Otomo Yoshihide. Sue composizioni sono state commissionate dal Goethe Institue di Roma, da Rai 3. Nel 1997 forma con Økapi il duo Metaxu, collaborando con il collettivo di filmaker Cane Capovolto, in un progetto sulle potenzialita' del suono nella fiction.
Økapi è un Dj/ turntablist/ plagiarista, che puo' suonare ad un rave come in un festival di musica contemporanea. Inizia molto presto ad utilizzare vinili e giradischi, influenzato dalla scena radicale dei dj e plagiaristi, affiancando all' approccio "acusmatico" della musica concreta/electroacoustica, un grande interesse per la digital dance music e il sound design. Nel 97 fonda il duo Metaxu con Martuscello con cui partecipa alla Biennale di Venezia.
Massimo Pupillo Bassista nella band Zu, con cui ha suonato centinaia di concerti in Europa ed Usa, collaborando con artisti come The Ex, Ken Vandermark, Ruins, Otomo Yoshihide, Amy Denio ed in particolare con Eugene Chabourne, con cui ha registrato 2 cd. Ha anche un trio con Gianni Gebbia e Lukas Ligeti.
