Xabier Iriondo

Xabier Iriondo is the deus-ex-machina behind some of the most adventurous musical projects conceived in Italy over the last 30 years, serving as guitarist for Afterhours as well as projects like Six Minute War Madness, A Short Apnea and Tasaday.

From 2005 to 2010 he opened Soundmetak in Milan, a shop/laboratory where he sold unique instruments and organized musical performances.

Over the last 30 years he has produced more than 60 recordings with major and independent labels and performed live on three continents, collaborating (both live and in studio) with various artists including: Damo Suzuki (Can), Lydia Lunch, Xiu Xiu, ZU, Rhys Chatham, Peter Brotzmann, Eugene Robinson (Oxbow), Greg Dulli (Afghan Whigs), Jacob Bannon (Converge), Duane Dennison (Jesus Lizard), Wu Fei, Paolo Tofani (Area), Nic Chester (Jet), Steve Piccolo (Lounge Lizards), Carla Bozulich, Walter Prati, Mark Lanegan, Eraldo Bernocchi, Gak Sato, Gianni Mimmo and many others.

Recently he has been involved as guitarist/sound manipulator in the band BUÑUEL.
